Doris Day in the Movies 2

March 31, 2020 #1963

Doris Day really took Hollywood by storm in 1950. She had started out rather tentatively because she didn't have any acting experience. She was popular as a band singer, having spent more than a couple of years with the Les Brown band, but it took her awhile to feel comfortable in an acting role. We start with selections from the 1950 movie, "Tea For Two," an adaptation of the 1925 Broadway musical, "No, No, Nanette." We then follow her career as she was placed in starring roles in 1951, teamed with Gordon MacRae again and later appearing opposite Danny Thomas.
